Boarding School for the Mythical

“I am Tabitha.” I said forcefully. “And you can kiss me anytime you want, you’re choosing not to.”

Velaric:

“Down town. Not too far from here” I told her.

"No, because the Tabitha I know was shy and quiet, and would be blushing right now." I remarked softly, tracing her cheek.

Vivian:

"Hm. I should grab my stuff." I remarked, looking down at the seatbelt. "How do I get out?"

“But we’re the same person. Just slightly different mannerisms...” I said before grabbing his wrist and moving my face to kiss his palm. “You see, you don’t even know me. What makes you think you like her better? We had fun the last time, didn’t we?” I grinned at him.

Velaric:

I sighed looking toward the stairs once more. Maybe he would stay the night. Maybe they had fallen asleep on the couch or something. “I can take you there.” I said as I started the car up again.

"I care about the person Tabitha as a whole. I like everything about her...you...the both of you. But my favorite will always be the other one." I said softly, stroking her cheek gently.

Vivian:

I nodded slowly, looking up at the building. "They kissed, but are talking now. The dark part is on the outside with the light in for the girl."

“How do you know that? What, is she just more your type?” I asked knocking his hand aside in annoyance.

Velaric:

I had started backing up but put my foot on the brake. “What?” I asked her. “She changed?”

Vivian:

"Yes? I do not know. The black is surrounding the white right now, but it looks like the white might be trying to get back out. I do not know." I said looking up at the room, my eyes never moving or blinking.

Sphinx:

"Maybe, but I made a promise. Until I get permission from both sides of you, I will hold myself as far back as I need too." I said softly, my eyes showing a lot of patience.

“Well then, if you’re not going to do anything with me, I might as well go to bed.” I got up and stepped around the coffee table before pulling my dress up over my head.

Velaric:

I pulled my phone out and sent a text to Phinxh telling him to come out in the next five minutes or I was coming up.

My eyes widened and I couldn't help but stare at her body as she walked away. My shook my head and pulled out my phone, looking at it and sighing. How did he always know?

Vivian:

I sighed and hugged my knees to my chest, not easy with the seat belt.

I went to my room leaving the door open but the light off as I shed my bra and panties. I got a silk night gown out from a box under the bed and pulled it on. “You know, you could stay.” I said as I went back to the doorway of my room.

Velaric:

“Not long. We’ll be leaving soon.” I told her. In five minutes or so if all went well.

Sphinx:

"Not tonight, maybe another." I paused, biting my lip. "Come out for a second?" I asked having heard the sounds of clothes being slipped on.

I smirked as I moved across the living room floor to stand in front of him. “Yes?” I asked softly, tilting my head a little. The light gown did very little to conceal the shape of my body.

I couldn't help but letting my eyes wander down her body before looking at her. I lifted her chin to kiss her deeply for a moment. I pulled back and traced her cheek gently, looking into her eyes before turning to leave her dorm.

I grinned, biting my lip as I watched him go. I turned once the door was closed to look at the fox. “What? You don’t like me do you?” I asked going to sit on the floor in front of him. “Well that’s just because you don’t know me. No one does.” I picked him up and hugged him to my chest. He scrambled away leaving claw marks across my arm and shoulder. I sighed.

Sphinx:

I walked downstairs, looking around for a moment before spotting Vel's car. I sighed softly, glancing up towards Tabitha's room before moving towards the car.

Velaric:

I stepped out of the car and looked my friend over for any bodily harm. “Bout time. You should have kept me waiting out here so long. Half my night is wasted away now. Only about five more hours left.” I chastised. “What happened up there?” I nodded to the building.

Sphinx:

"You don't have to look over me so often. I'm not that fragile." I said dryly. "But I kissed her, she became her other half sometime while I was kissing her."

Velaric:

“Ah. Well then that would be a reason not to do that.” I said. “You need a ride?” I asked after a moment.

Sphinx:

I drew in a breath and let it out slowly. "No. I need to think, and you are in the midst of a date brother. Or could be in one. Either way, be a gentleman."

Velaric:

“I’m always a gentleman.” I said indignantly. “But do you have any tips for dealing with a phoenix?” I asked him. “She’s either super young, or super naïve, or both..”

Sphinx:

I laid a hand on his shoulder. "Brother, I met her and threw a party for my hundredth birthday." I let that sink in for a moment, especially given my true age, something he actually knew. "A phoenix when they grow too old or die from mortal wounds, turn into a pile of ash. They are reborn as soon as the next solstice passes. She has access in her head to a vast sum of knowledge, the likes of which is greater than any library in the world." I paused to let out a breath. Drawing another one in I continued. "They have life spans the same as a human, and their personalities can change between life cycles of birth and dying. They reach a point though where they stop aging, and remain the the same appearance before they reach the end of that cycle." I glanced at the girl who seemed oblivious to us talking. "As for her being naive. She grew up alone in a monastery, those who guard her tend to get protective and limit what she can do."

Velaric:

“Huh, so.. She doesn’t remember past lives then?” I asked glancing at her through the windshield. “Why is she even here?”

Sphinx:

"Probably escaped, or thinks she has and just wants to see the world. See enough of the same place long enough and have no way to be let out. You would feel trapped too." I said with a nod.

Velaric:

“So should I take her back to my place?” I asked him. “She’s not dangerous or anything is she? Not going to stake me while I sleep?”

Sphinx:

I shook my head. "No, she is only dangerous to those who wish her harm."

Velaric:

“Alright. I’ll get going then. You be safe. And don’t go back up there.” I cautioned as I went back to my car.
