hm weird me....hell yes (open)

I landed and went upstairs to take a quick shower and change into fresher clothes.

Kai:

I heard a soft thunk on the porch outside then a few moments later Jemma stepped into the kitchen. “Hi.” She said softly, leaning against the wall to watch me. I looked her over once then went back to buttering toast. She looked pale and tired. “Good Morning.” I said, feeling a little awkward after our fight yesterday.”

I bushed out my hair and then surveyed my reflection for a brief moment. Dark jeans with a grey top with the words Old Navy, going across the chest. That done I skipped downstairs and stopped in the doorway to the kitchen at the sight of Jemma. I felt conflicting emotions right now as I looked at her. Nervousness because I was afraid she wouldn't like me when I wanted to spend the rest of my short life with her brother. A touch of fear because she could throw me out of the house...and change my memory to make me forget Kai entirely. Respect because since I had known her I wanted to be just like her. I wanted to be like her enough that I was wearing my hair like she usually did. My eyes also held a mixture of happiness and apprehension at seeing her. Which one won out would be determined by her mood.

Jemma:

I looked Kat over when she walked in. “You look very nice today.” I said offhandedly. Moving over to Kai I nudged him over and took over what he was doing to prepare breakfast. “Go sit down.” I told him.

Kai:

Wordlessly I went to the table and took a seat while motioning for Kat to do the same. I had a strange feeling Jem was about to tell us off for spending the night out.

I moved to the table, but hesitated on where to sit. I knew Jemma didn't like us spending time close together. But I sat next to Kai anyway, chewing on my lower lip.

Jemma:

I took a plate of toast over and sat it down in front of them before taking the seat on the other side of the table. “We need to talk.” I said before taking a deep breath. I didn’t know how to say it tactfully, so I’d just have to come out and say it. “Have you two been intimate together?” I asked bluntly, to which Kai flushed deep red.

I had just taken a bite out of a piece of toast when she asked the question. I immediately started choking on the piece of toast and took a moment to stop coughing.

Jemma:

I stared at the two of them. “Well?” I pushed. “No!” Kai said sounding horrified that I would even ask. I relaxed a little at this news. “Good, very good.” I muttered. “Well, then I’m not too late in talking about this.” I said. “Jemma… No…” Kai groaned. I ignored him and went on. “Since neither of you have had a traditional upbringing… I assume much of your information has been learned through obscure sources. Kat, I’m assuming you know what sex is through the school? The basics right?”

I looked down and swallowed nervously. "No...I was kept apart...I only ever left my room for brief visits to a room where they did physicals...or for when they cleared all of you out of the yard for brief...wonderful times of freedom." I closed my hands into fists, my eyes on the table. "I was never taught anything that I really should have...I learned most from watching...or the few tutors I got."

Jemma:

“Get out Kai.” I told him nodding to the door. He left with a word. “Okay, do you have any questions then?” I asked. Having spent my early years in the school I had a pretty good idea of what she would know.

Kat:

"No one ever really explained...the time of the month...they just gave me stuff to help and left it at that." I shifted in my seat awkwardly. "It was a lot of trial and error to learn how to do what I can. Didn't learn how to put on a bra until I stole one, make up was a new thing I got to use when I escaped...or was let out..though I'm not a fan of it yet. And probably the million and a half things a girl is supposed to know I was never taught."

Jemma:

I took in a breath then went about explaining to her. When I finished I said, “I was never taught either. Never taught how to be a girl. Maybe that’s why I’m not very lady-like.” It was a small attempt at humor.

I smiled at that. "I wouldn't mind growing up to be just like you...because even if your not very lady-like. You are strong and able to do so much."

Jemma:

I smiled a little sadly. “You don’t want to be like me. Just be yourself and you’ll be just fine. You’re a good girl Kat.” I said softly.

I shook my head and looked down. "I am a weak person, who needs to be taken care of. Its all I have ever been. When I am with Kai, I feel alive but I am still someone that everyone takes care of. I want to be like you because even if your faking it, your so self-confident, so sure of what your doing. That is why I want to be like you."

Jemma:

I smiled, she had no idea how young she was being in thinking this. But it was sweet. “I used to be weak. I used to depend on someone for everything. It’s just part of growing up, realizing not everything is how you think it is. It doesn’t happen overnight.” I told her.

I ducked my head shyly and smiled. "Well, then when I am grown up. I want to be as tough as you." I got up and moved around the table to hug her. "Thank you for everything you do for us Jemma."

Jemma:

I patted her back as she hugged me. “Sit down, we’re not finished with our talk. We have to cover the consequences, if you and Kai decide to… Do anything.”

I pulled back and nodded, sitting down again. I crossed my arms on the table and rested my chin on them.

Jemma:

I went through every detail I could think of, not to scare her, just discourage her from doing anything too soon. “Any last questions?” I asked casually when I couldn’t think of anything else to say.

I shook my head my face feeling like it would be permanently red. "N-no...and I won't be doing any of that too soon...I shouldn't in the first place...I couldn't support life...not even if I wanted too." I smiled sadly then shook away the bad thoughts, my hair going into a bit of a halo around my head. "Thank you though Jemma really. I can't make promises for Kai...but I won't make any efforts to do that..."

Jemma:

I stood up from my seat. “Good, very good.” I said, taking in her appearance. I didn't think there was any way she could possibly be related to her so called brother. She was too innocent.

I had my eyes on the table a far away look on my face. When she stood I brought my eyes up to her. "Do you want to talk to Kai alone now? I can feel him still close by."

Jemma:

“I do, but I’ll find him.” I told her as I turned to leave the kitchen. “If you ever have any questions, about anything, you can always ask me.” I said, pausing by the door.

I turned my head to look at her and nodding. "Okay, I will remember that. I wish I could have known you back in the school..."
