Jemma:

“It wouldn’t have done you any good.” I told her quietly before leaving to find Kai.

"No...but perhaps I might have had a friend or had someone who cared about me..." I whispered to the empty room.

Jemma:

I took Kai to my room to talk. It was something neither of us wanted to do. Somehow it was intensely more awkward than talking to Kat. He asked no questions and suffered through it in silence. In the end he hurried to leave the room.
I sat alone in my room for a moment before I heard a soft knock on the door and Kai came back in. “Can I talk to you about something else?” He asked quietly. I blinked but sat forward eagerly. “Of course.” I said, pleased that he wanted to talk without me forcing him. He sat down on the bed next to me. I realized now as I studied him that he was nearly my height now. He struggled to form the words, and I waited patiently.
“Kat’s dying.” He said bluntly after a moment. “She doesn’t know how long she has, but from the sound of it, it wont be a matter of years.” His voice was thick with emotion. I took in a deep breath but before I could respond, he wrapped his arms around me and pressed his face into my shoulder. I hugged him tightly and smoothed my hands over his back.
After he told me what Kat had said, I reassured him that I would do everything in my power to find a way to save her. I would find a way. He knew I would, he had always trusted me to do something however impossible it may seem. I had found a way to bring him back to life after all. If I could cheat death once, couldn’t I do it again?

KAt:

I rested my head on my arms tiredly in the kitchen. I knew that what Jemma was telling us was a good plan. However...if I was to die...I wanted to be Kai's first.

Kai:

I went to find Kat with mixed emotions. Jemma had left us to be alone while she went off to find a way to save Kat. While I was thrilled to be alone with Kat, I was a little nervous for us to be on our own. Not to mention I wouldn’t know what to do if something went wrong. But Jemma had said that she would come immediately if we got into trouble or needed her.
I stepped up behind Kat silently and couldn’t help but lean down and kiss the back of her neck.

Kat:

I looked up at him, my cheeks pink. "So...how did your talk go?" I asked him as I smoothed my hands over the table. My eyes traced his face, while my fingers drew random patterns on the table.

Kai:

I flopped down in the chair next to her. “Jemma has decided to let us be on our own for a little while.” I told her. “Just us.”

"S-she's doing what?" I asked in surprise. I looked up at him in shock and with no small amount of blush to my cheeks.

Kai:

I took her hand in both of mine. “She’ll be just a call away though.” I assured her. “You do want to, don’t you?” I asked softly.

Kat:
"You silly, silly boy." I murmured leaning over to kiss him. "I want to be with you always. Alone, with others, it doesn't matter. So long as I have you with me I am happy."

Kai:

I grinned at her and pulled her closer to kiss again.

((Should we skip a little and go back to Ira and Alex?))

Kat:

I moved onto his lap to cuddle and kiss him softly.

((Sure!))

Ira:

It had been a few days since I had followed Alex into the shadows. We seemed to be growing closer, but still not as close as I would like. I couldn’t help but fall for him when he was the first person I could touch in a long time.

I kept my hand on the small of her back as I led her through the maze of broken cars and smashed trucks in the junkyard. We had just finished eating with an older man and wife who owned and ran the junk yard. I had been helping them all day while Ira slept.

Ira:

I shaded my eyes from the bright sun, and pulled at my shirt a little for air flow. I didn’t have to wear my gloves any more. But I was still afraid of other people accidentally touching me, so I always wore long sleeves.

"Race you to the lake? Last one there has to cook later?" I flashed her a grin and fell to the side into the shadows. I reached a hand out and grabbed hers at the last second pulling her through. We tumbled out next to the lake where I laughed.

Ira:

I gasped softly when he took me through the shadows. I still wasn’t used to that. My fingers curled around his without me noticing, and I didn’t let go even when we were at the lake. “That’s not really a race.” I said with an amused smile.

"It is, I won. You have to make dinner tonight." I challenged with a laugh. I walked over to our impromptu camp. Which was a large tent, a fire ring, and a cooler of ice full of drinks and snacks. Inside the tent was a mess of clothes and other random objects we had gathered. I never worried about cleaning up, I just dropped it all into the shadows and pulled it out later when we needed it.

Ira:

“I’m not very good at making dinner you know.” I said then thought of an idea. “We could just go out.” I suggested casually.

"Going out usually means touching Ira. Are you sure?" I asked her looking at her in concern. A few accidents had happened along the way, but I had slowly brought her out of her shell. Even if it meant that I often woke up with her cuddled against me.

Ira:

“Not always. We could go somewhere quiet. I wouldn’t have to interact much.” I said quickly, bringing my hands together and twisting them nervously, rethinking my idea.

Alex:

"Pick the place and we can go." I told her, pointing to the tent and the laptop inside. "Find a place, if you want to get dressed up for it we can. Enjoy yourself Ira. As for me, I am going swimming. It's way to hot out here."

Ira:

I smiled and nodded. I went into the tent and started searching for restaurants that would be suitable, and in a nice location.

I followed her to the tent grabbing my swimming trunks from inside and moving behind the tent to change into them.

Ira:

I found a place that sounded good after a little bit of searching. I sat in the tent for a moment before rummaging through the stuff on the floor to find my bathing suit. I put on the deep blue one piece then shuffled around a little more to find sunscreen. My skin was so pale, I would burn in an instant from being out in the sun. I made my way to the water once I was lathered up.
