Alex:

I closed my eyes and drew in a slow breath to hold back the tears. When I opened my eyes I focused on Kai and Kat. "We are here for you Kai, for any support we can offer."

 

 

Alex:

I needed a break so I told Ira and Kai I was going to be back after grabbing food for everyone. And once I was out of the room I just started wandering away towards the kitchen. I felt an itch at the back of my head, but I couldn't place the feeling. Something was bugging me, some piece of the puzzle to help Kat perhaps?

Jenna:

I groaned and rolled over. I was on the floor in my room, and I hadn't put myself there. My head was throbbing in the back. When I touched it, it felt tender, and there was a little bit of blood on my fingers when I looked at them. I got to my feet slowly, wincing at the throbbing. I went through my bag until I found my switchblade then I went to the bathroom to check my head. If I let my hair down, the blood wasn't visible. I looked pale and a little red eyes in the mirror.
Someone had knocked me out for snooping around. I hadn't even found anything yet. But they didn't want me to look anymore. I went to the door and turned the knob, but of course I was locked in. Of course. I was surprised they hadn't put me in a cage. I banged on the door, making sure they knew I was conscious again.
"Let me out!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. This was a former school, which meant the doors and walls were thick. I wouldn't be able to break through. And the one window in the room was half sized and thick glass.
I was still kicking the door with my heel, but it was more out of anger than any hope that it would accomplish anything.

Alex:

I found myself outside Jemma's room. I didn't know how, I didn't know why. I simply was standing there staring at her door. I was emotional, distraught, and just plain out of it. So I started laughing. In a time of emotional trauma. I went to Jemma. I didn't go to my girlfriend. It was Jemma, it had always been Jemma. But...who could she turn too? This had to be just as hard on her. I moved closer to the door to knock when I heard the thumps of something hitting the door. I frowned and moved back until I pressed my back into a patch of shadows. From those shadows I came out into her room. "Jemma?"

Jemma:

Startled, I drew in a sharp breath then focused on him. "Thank goodness its you. They locked me in! I need your help, I found something, but they might catch me again if I go back by myself." I said in a rush, grabbing a hold of his shirt sleeve.

I blinked at her and then nodded. "Alright. Show me." I opened the shadows behind me to the room, Kage already standing by the doorway looking out.

Jemma:

I didn't want to see Kage, or be around him. But I went into the shadows anyway, and told Alex were the lab was that I found the stairway.

Alex:

I took her hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. "You'll be fine Jemma. I promise." I told her softly before opening the portal.

Jemma:

I nodded and stepped through, right into the lab. It looked different, someone had gone through the trouble of rearranging and masking the door I had found. I shoved a table out of the way and several boxes toppled over to reveal the door again. I wrenched it open and started down the stairs. Once again I was feeling the dread of going under ground.

I raised an eyebrow as I watched her move the table and boxes. "Someone went through a lot of trouble..." I remarked following after her. I strained my senses onto high alert, knowing my powers would keep me protected, but I would do all I could to make sure Jemma was safe as well.

 

"Do you want protection?" I asked her softly and seriously. "Assassination was what I was designed for remember?" I spread my arms and from my own shadow two big wolves padded out. They were made completely of shadows, darker and lighter.

 

I made gestures and whispered soft commands to the wolves. They followed after Jemma, with orders to protect her at all costs and to obey her every command. I myself went to the first door she had sent me too and opened it slowly.

Jemma:

I entered the room at the end followed by the shadow wolves. It was very large and dark, none of the lights were on, but something large at the end of the room was glowing softly. I didn't turn on the lights in case it drew attention, but I moved through the room, almost mesmerized by the thing at the end. Until I saw what it was.

Alex:

This room was rather empty with a few tables that had dried blood on them, but other than that it was devoid of anything that would tell me what was going on.

Jemma:

I circled around the crystal structure encasing him. Adam. The one time I needed him and he wasn't there, he was actually in the very same place I was. No wonder he hadn't come. I pressed both hands against the crystal, he was upright on his on feet, but it seemed like her was hung from his back, because his upper body was hunched over. He wasn't conscious, which I was grateful for. I didn't know if I should break him out or leave him in his prison. What would he do if I let him out? What would he do? I didn't know if he even would help me, not after how we had left things the last time.
I just stood there with my hands and forehead pressed against the glass-lick crystal, unmoving.

I checked the last room and didn't find anything of interest in that room either. So I went back out of the room and waited outside the room Jemma was in. I could tell what room she was in, only because of the shadow wolves.

Jemma:

After a few more minutes I stepped back and looked at the entire thing. Adam was trapped in crystal, like a dragonfly in amber. The crystal went all the way up to the ceiling and through it. Either the crystal, or Adam was emitting a soft white light.
Why would he be here like this? I knew he was powerful, and that Aline's power was to use this crystal to use powers. Could she some how be manipulating his powers? That was a scary thought. I started looking around for something to break him out.

One of the shadow wolves brushed against the crystal, and where they had touched it, the crystal was simply gone. They were exploring the entirety of the room, checking all the corners for anything that might be a threat.

 

Alex:

I raised an eyebrow at her then moved to check the room she had just come from. I stopped once I could recognize who was in the crystal. "Adam..."
