Aline:

“I know.” I said, coming up to stand by him. “You interest me. Never before have I had a challenge I could not face. I wonder, Your shadow world, the one you took Ira and Jemma to, Could you take me there? Maybe I could find a way to help you, if I was in your world.” I said in a manner of proposing a business agreement.

"I could...but you might not want to come, and the controller might not want you to be there." I said my eyes flicking towards her. "Jemma saw what it was like when the controller doesn't wish you to be there. And some how he earned a place. I let Ira in and my controller seems okay with her..." I rubbed my hands together absently. "I wonder what he is going to feel about someone who spies on me..."

Aline:

“I do not spy on you, or anyone else. I just like to know what is going on.” I said as I crossed my arms. “I didn’t know you were going to be in this room when I came here.”

"Really? I told you that I could transport things through the shadows by touching them. I never told you or showed you that I made a room." I lifted my eyes to her.

Aline:

“Other people talk to me. Not everyone is suspicious like you. In fact, very few are.” I said calmly. “Ira told me what happened the morning after you brought your friend here, Jemma, she seems suspicious too.” I said, hoping to learn something more about her. There was only so much Ira could tell me.

"I am not suspicious of you. However, as much gratitude as I have for what you have done. I simply want nothing to do with you. You can not help me, I understand that now. Nothing you or anyone will do can help. It is my powers nature to be that way." I rolled my shoulders a bit, "As for Jemma, it is not my place to tell her story. She is here for Kai, think of it as my payment for helping Ira. Jemma will help Kai cope better with Kat being here like this. In fact, you should think about letting the boy see his girlfriend. I can't say what might happen should Kat pass from this world and you prevented him from being with her."

Aline:

I gave him a level look. “I will think about it.” I said simply. “Now if you don’t mind, I need to take care of Kat. And I’m sure she’d rather you not be in the same room, conscious or not.”

"No. I am not one of your minions to order about. If you are worried about modesty, I can avert my eyes then. But I have no plans to leave this room." I said evenly with a small shrug.

Aline:

“No? And why?” I asked sharply, showing annoyance for the first time. “You’re forgetting that I’m in charge here. I am not ordering you, I’m asking you, as someone who has allowed you to stay here.”

"You have no more permission to permit me to be here than any other. This may be your home, you may be it's leader. But so long as shadows exist in your home I am welcome to it." I ran a hand over my face and sighed. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't be so rude, you have been a gracious host and nothing but kind. Could I please remain here for just a bit longer Aline? I'm not sure I want to go wandering just yet."

 
 

"Please, don't let my being here stop you from taking care of her." I urged, turning my back in case she wished privacy for her work. I knew next to nothing about her, having been rather withdrawn into myself when I first arrived.

 

Alex:

I laid in bed, a book in my hand. I had left Kat soon after Aline had finished. I had apologized to her as well before I had ended up at my room. A quick pull through the shadow world and I had a small pizza laying half eaten on a plate beside me.

 

I lifted my gaze from the book, "Hey, how was your day?" I asked softly my eyes flicking around the room before I settled on using a clean napkin as a bookmark. that accomplished I set aside the book aside and sat up to watch her.

 

I gave a soft sigh and with a wave of my hand a shadow me performed the actions I had done all day. I didn't leave anything out, but it was silent. The words Jemma and I spoke were for only us to know.

 

I gave out a soft sigh through my nose and I tilted my head back to look at the ceiling. "I loved her, Jemma I mean. I couldn't tell you why, I just did. But she pushed me away and made me unhappy. She has changed, but then again so have I. I'm with someone now, who is endlessly cute and a little stubborn. This person made me see that even with my powers as dark as they are, that I could still find something to smile about each day. If I ever had one complaint about her, it would be that you drool so so so so so much when you sleep." I dropped my gaze to give her a tired smile. I didn't have to ask what she was thinking about.

 

I laid back down and winked at her with an innocent expression. "You drool like you want to drown me sometimes."

 

I raised an eyebrow then pulled one of the pillows out from under my head. I pulled back the pillow case to show the stains that her drooling had left.
