Alex:

My smile faltered and I looked at the ground unhappily. "Might want to follow her if you want to talk. She won't come to you till she needs you for something." I said turning and heading into the kitchen.

Ira:

“Yeah, I said softly, following after her. I knocked on her door. “Yeah come in.” She said. I pushed the door open. The towel was on the floor and Jemma was wearing black pants and just then putting on a blue bra.

Alex:

I made a peanut butter and jelly sandwhich before taking it outside, starting to just wander away from the house.

Jemma:

Once I was dressed I sat down on the bed and she sat next to me. She told me everything that had happened to her and the group that had left with her. From the sound of it, their deaths weren’t entirely her fault, but she blamed herself anyway. She finished and we sat in silence. “So now there’s only you, me, and Adam left.” She said quietly. I sighed. “I’m not with Adam anymore. He’s changed too much. He’s nothing like who he used to be.” I told her. I guessed it was the same with me, though I hadn’t lost my mind in the process.

Kat:

I wasn't flying very fast, as I felt drained.

Alex:

I sat down on a rock, letting out a sigh as I hugged my knees.

Kai:

I flew under her, just in case she fainted. It wasn’t long before we reached the tree house we had found. I landed lightly on the little porch in front of it.

I didn't have as graceful of a landing but I made up for it by essentially falling into Kai and wrapping my arms around him.

Kai:

I caught her having guessed that she wouldn’t be very steady. I scooped her legs out from under her and carried her into the tree house.

I blushed faintly, looking up at him. "Bridal style? Over the threshold no less..." I said softly.

Kai:

I smiled softly and kissed her temple as I set her down. I grabbed the blankets folded in the corner that we had brought here a few days ago and spread them out on the ground.

I smiled softly, and moved out of his way when I needed too.

Kai:

I sat down on the blankets and pulled her down with me gently. “I’m sorry about Jemma.” I said softly.

I hugged onto him and hid my face in his chest. "I'm surprised your not more bothered by me not telling you about this being my only life now..."

Kai:

I held her close and rubbed her back gently. “I am bothered, but what can I do? You brought me back, I have no right to be mad at you for it.”

Kat:

I kept my face hidden in his chest, my hands also pressed up against it. "There isn't anything you can do...and my life will run out eventually since I have nothing to sustain it..."

Kai:

I took in a slow breath and let it out. When you say eventually, like how long?” I asked calmly but I felt my heart beat speeding up.

Kat:

"As long as the connection between us lasts. My soul is adapting to your body, and while it will never be a perfect replacement...when it adapts I will start fading away. I was storing energy so I could last longer, but I burned most of it a bit ago..." I said softly, feeling his heartbeat.

Kai:

“How long?” I repeated. I felt cold at the thought of losing her, ever, and it being my fault.

Kat:

"I have a few days of energy left now. But I don't know how long it will take my soul to adapt to your body." I said softly, tears leaking out of my eyes as I pressed my face harder to his chest.

Kai:

My blood went cold. “So I could be soon…?” My voice was calm and devoid of emotion, but I felt numb.

Kat:

I shrugged my shoulders a bit. "I don't know...I don't think so though."

Kai:

I buried my face in her hair and held onto her tightly.

I closed my eyes and worked on not crying too much into his shirt.

Kai:

I shook a little silently. I hated giving my emotions away like this, but I couldn’t hold it in. A life without her was unimaginable. Even if she said I could go on living without her, physically, I didn’t think I could mentally, I knew I would shut down.

"I'm so sorry...." I whispered miserably, thinking that it was all my fault is.
