hm weird me....hell yes (open)

Adam:

We worked silently and easily with each other.  I would have thought there would be tension between us given my past, but he hardly seemed to notice me.  When the hole was deep enough and big enough I stopped, but Alex didn't seemed to notice.  I put my hand on his shoulder.  "This is good enough."  I told him gently.

I would have kept digging if Adam hadn't stopped me. I was on auto-pilot at this point. My mind was practically non-existant and I wasn't about to do anything unless told to or made to stop.

Adam:

I climbed out of the hole and helped Alex out then moved over to Ira's body.  Her body had become cold since she had been laying in the grass and had become somewhat stiff.  Thankfully I was the one to pick her up rather than Alex.  As gently as I could I laid her down as the bottom of the grave then climbed out. 

"Jemma?"  I asked looking over to her  to come say goodbye but she only shook her head and stayed put.  I looked over to Alex instead.

Alex:

I stared down into the hole at Ira's body. I didn't move or speak, just stared at her body. She was gone so young and it was tearing me up inside. I felt like I was being eaten up by guilt over things I could have said or done to make her life better. Things I should have done just to see her eyes light up.

 

I knelt beside the hole looking down at Ira. "I'm going to miss you, you taught me what it's like to be normal and how to live life for my own happiness. I will always hold a piece of your heart with me."

Adam:

I waited a minute after Alex spoke while I watched Jemma.  "It's time Jemma."  I told her.  Yet again she shook her head and remained unmoving on the ground.  I took up the shovel again and started covering Ira.

I started to work beside Adam, covering the body in dirt. I felt drained, and empty, only focusing on what Adam was currently working on.

Adam:

The grave was finally covered and the light was growing. Dropping the shovel, I went over to crouch down in front of Jemma. "We need to leave. You cant stay like this all day." I told her softly.

Jemma:

Just after I walked through the portal I felt a wave of exhaustion wash over me. My knees had gone numb and I had dropped to the ground, my wings unfurling as well. I couldn't move m,y legs or my wings. I felt sick and numb and my head was pounding. Adam kept talking to me, telling me I should say something, but I just couldn't do anything.

"Jemma get up."  I said, but it wasn't a request, I was still kneeling next to the grave with my hands on the earth.  I was focusing my power into the earth searching with my power.

 
 
 

"Enough." I said quietly, looking up from the grave. "This isn't the time or place for you two to duke it out over you personal issues." I stood up and simply moved over to Jemma, picking her up easily bridal style. I took extra care of her wings, but once I was standing I was moving again, heading away. Anyplace was better than here.

Jemma:

I gasped a little when Alex picked me up. I could feel my legs and wings, I found out, but I couldn't move them, not even a twitch. My wings, even though he had been careful with them, were bunched up in an unnatural, uncomfortable way that I couldn't fix. I didn't know if I should put my arm around his neck to make it easier, or just be still. I chose to just be still.
"Where are we going?" I asked quietly.

Adam:

I stood up and watched them, I felt a twinge in my stomach from how easily he handled her, how she didn't protest. And he didn't even care. I followed after a moment. I wasn't going to just let her go.

Alex:

"Just away. For now. Just as far away as we can get. Move first, find someplace to rest, find a way to get us back together, and then from there...we do what must be done." I shrugged and looked down at her. "Did either of you have something in mind?"

 
 

I looked down at her, my face gaining a brief wince at her chosen location. But the wince faded as I looked into her eyes. All of my repressed feelings for her came back to the surface, flooding my eyes but also a mixture of pain and guilt.

 
 
 
 
 
 

I crouched down immediately. "Jemma?" I asked softly, shifting a hand to cup the back of her head, "Jemma come back to me." I said concern entering my voice as I gazed to her. My head lifted to look towards Adam in worry before I dropped my gaze back down towards the girl in my arms.

 
 
 

I grit my teeth and nodded. I stood once more, cradling her gently in my arms as I spread open a portal before us. It was harder than I would have liked but I managed I stepped into the shadow world and immediately opened another portal to the inside of the house.

 

I laid her down on the bed, "Do you know what is wrong?" I asked Adam as I smoothed a lock of hair out of her face.

Adam:

"You know what her powers are, I assume." I said with a shrug. "She uses them on herself too. She can forget anything she wants to by locking them away in her mind. Even things she doesn't want to forget, she suppresses. So if she's lost her powers, like I have mine, then she doesn't have that protection. I guess all the memories she wanted to forget are coming back to her." I sighed. "She always relied on power too much. We both did."

I considered his words before looking at him in surprise. "No powers? Neither of you?" I lifted my eyes at that, waiting for his confirmation. IF Adam no longer had any powers at all...what horrors could come of it and who really was the man underneath.
