Boarding School for the Mythical

Tabitha:

“I frowned at him. “What do you meant nope? You said you wouldn’t laugh!” I exclaimed going to whack him on the back a couple times, but it was playful.

"I tried so hard, that was the nope. I couldn't do it anymore." I quieted my laughing, and so I only shook silently with it.

Tabitha:

I crossed my arms. “What, because of the posters?” I asked flatly. Shade jumped up onto the bed and looked at Sphinx disdainfully.

I shook my head, "You misunderstand." I drew in several deep breaths. "I find it cute, and I can just imagine a younger you excitedly putting a good portion of those up." I gestured to the ceiling my eyes roaming over the posters. I let out a soft breath and my face grew wistful. "In a way...I think I might be jealous. I have never had a bedroom." I shrugged my shoulders, "I own plenty of buildings. Restaurants, apartments, hotels, homes. I think I even own a major casino in Las Vegas. I own enough property both in land and building to probably be equal to the city of New York. But I have never really had a home. My parents were ambassadors for my people, they were always traveling. I was born in the land of the Dragons. Lost my first tooth on a shield given to me by the Valkyries when we were visiting their frozen stronghold. Went through puberty among a now dead civilization that used to live in the Sahara. They had a beautiful garden that stretched as far as the eye could see. But it is nothing but sand now. Even now, I live in your apartment, I sleep in your bedroom. I grew up being given room and board. When I took up my parents work with them that continued. When they disappeared as did my people I no longer had work. I served as a messenger, a mercenary, adviser, hero, villain. The list could go on of the many hats and roles I have played. I am known to the far corners of the world and back. None turn me away, and if I ask it. Any of my needs would be met." I let out a soft breath and dropped my eyes. "I laughed because I liked your room, and because I am jealous of how you have left your personal mark in such a way."

 

I blinked at her for a moment then a soft smile came to my lips. "I would love that."

Tabitha:

"Really You actually want to? Like permanently?" I asked as my face lit up and a happy smile came to my lips.

I nodded and sat beside her on the bed. "Really I would. But I swear to what ever you hold dear that isn't me. If the house becomes nothing but pink I will end you."

 

"Until you have lived and stayed with the Umbire Pixies...you would not ask that. They decorate everything in pink. Because for them, it isn't pink." I shuddered and shook my head.

 

"Ah...right..." I muttered a string of curses in a multitude of languages.

 

"The fay are..." I paused and frowned, "I could tell you what a lot of races are and my own but I'm not sure I should."

 

"The fay are arrogant and believe themselves to be superior to every other race. Pixies are playful, and wish to just have fun. Sprites are nice, so long as you don't hurt any of their friends. The trees, plants, animals." I waved offhandedly. "None admittedly are my favorite to visit."

 

"Tends to vary. Nymphs share a common trait though, they have something or someone they love above everything else. Nymphs are devoted to this thing. For some it is an action, others plants, yet another it's romance. Cupid was a love Nymph." I said with a smile as I flopped back onto her bed.

 

"Well, perhaps your tone is Nymph but your mind is something else." I trailed a hand over her skin to emphasize my point on her tone. I knew she burned easily.

 

I shrugged. "You are a mix of a lot of things it seems. I would say a bit pixie, a little fey."

 

"No, but I know about that too. I remember what you had for breakfast that morning in fact." I said with a soft smile as I went back to that day.

Tabitha:

"When your vampire friend bit me and I lost control for the first time in years?" I asked, I tried not to be bitter, but it seeped into my tone.
