I gave her a sleepy smile, an arm winding around her shoulders as I kissed her temple. "I'm glad. Everyone else off to bed?"

Jemma:

“Yes.” I said though I wasn't sure, nor did I care about Adam. I proped myself up on and elbow so I could look at him.

I blinked up at her sleepily, slowly growing more awake the longer I looked at her. "That's good. Did you have any ideas for tomorrow? What you wanted to do with everyone?"

Jemma:

I shook my head. “I don't. I guess just resting… I don't know where to go from there.” I said quietly, shifting so my chest was more pressed against him.

"We've been through a lot lately. Some rest will probably do us all some good." I murmured. My eyes dipped down to her chest. I tried not too, but I wasn't able to keep my eyes from focusing on her cleavage for a moment. I yanked my eyes away with a guilty expression as I focused on her face instead.

Jemma:

An amused smile twitched at my lips. I saw where his eyes had gone, and it was cute how he lookad away so quickly. I leaned in to kiss him.

An apology had been building on my lips, but it died when her lips pressed to mine. My eyes slid closed and I kissed her back softly. Had this been soon after I first met her and the first time we had started dating I would have thrown myself into the kiss. I wouldn't have held back or been as gentle as I was now. But I had been tempered, changed. Her words as well as being with Ira had made me slower to passion, to blind animalistic lust.

Jemma:

I kissed him slowly and gently at first but after a couple minutes I brought my leg up and shifted so I was straddling him. I kissed him a little more vigorously then.

My breath caught in my throat as she straddled me, and my body showed its enjoyment of both the kissing and her new position. I matched her kiss as my fingers moved into her hair.

Jemma:

I kissed him for another moment before pulling back a little to look at him. “What are you thinking?” I asked breathilly.

I gave a quiet laugh. "Really? Pretty sure you can feel and tell where my mind is Jemma..." I gently tugged at her hair for her breathy and silly question. To prove my point I shifted my hips into hers.

Jemma:

I let out a soft breath, half laughing at myself. “Right.” I murmured, leaning back down to kiss him again.

I kissed her back before forcing us into a roll so I was on top. With her pressed down onto the bed I pulled back. I pressed a finger to her throat pressing power into the hold. I didn't use my shadow power but I worked to catch my breath anyway. "Jemma...if you aren't careful I may not be able to control myself..."

Jemma:

I wasn't all too pleased for him to have rolled over without warning, and I didn't like being pinned, yet I didn't feel unsafe. I brought my hand up and curled it around his wrist, holding it firmly. “Are you saying you want to stop?” I asked, looking into his eyes.

"No...I don't...but...is this your heart that desires this or your mind after it saw Demi?" I asked softly, meeting her eyes as my breathing returned to normal.

Jemma:

My brow twitched in a second of annoyance. “What do you mean?” I asked, slightly more guarded than I had been a moment ago.

"She looks like Michael...but he can not reproduce. She also looks like you." The finger was removed and worry filled his eyes. Worry that had been eating at him since meeting Demi, worry that still attacked him even now. "You and I have never gone this far before...something had to change and it was Demi showing herself."

Jemma:

I exhaled in frustration and looked away from him. Every word he spoke was true. I didn't know how to respond at first. “Someone said something about her, didn't they? What did they say?” I asked, I hadn't told him I thought she was my daughter. Someone must have said something. My bet was on Adam, of course he would try to meddle with our relationship.

"No one had too. I watched her with you. If someone said something it was you. Your face spoke everything I needed to know.". I told her softly as I eased back from her into a sitting position.

Jemma:

I studied the ceiling. “You aren't wrong.” I admitted after a moment of silence. “Demi showing up did change things… It made me realize...” I sighed deeply. “I thought she was Michael's daughter. I thought she was our daughter together from the future… When he died that shattered everything, then she disappeared… I didn't just lose him, I lost her, and what I thought was my entire future.” I swallowed. “You look a lot like your brother Alex. It's one of the reasons I've been the way I have with you; less caring. I was in love with Michael, I was with him longer than I've been with you, yet I never did more than this with him. I never wanted to. I was still afraid to be with someone in that way…” I turned to look at him.

“I don't want to be with anyone else Alex. You're it. If we cant make this work, then I guess I'm just going to be alone. Demi being here at least gives me hope that things could work out. If nothing else, it shows me that I don't need to be afraid. I want to be with you. I want to be closer to you than anyone else… Her being here didn't change that, just shows me that it's possible...”

I looked away from her as she spoke, eyes closing in pain. I was tired of being compared to Michael, it was what I had been compared too my entire life. I knew it was what she had been comparing me too as well the entire time. I opened my eyes to look at her when she spoke of being afraid, that she didn't want to be with anyone else. Words escaped me, I didn't know what to say.

Jemma:

I sat up to look at him and tucked my legs under myself. “What are you thinking, Alex? Say something...” I sighed. Why were things always so complicated for the two of us? Someone was always screwing up (usually myself) and we couldn't get past that.

"I...." I began before swallowing and closing my eyes. At the start nothing came to my head, so I did the only thing that I could think of. I crossed the space between us to place my lips over hers in a gentle kiss. "I believe you. I am not Michael though Jemma. I may look like him, but I am not him. Maybe...Maybe I have been too hard on you over that. He was your first full love. A love you made yourself, not what was programmed into you. I am not going to leave Jemma. I want to stay with you, be with you. I know things will be hard for us, we have much pain to heal in here and in here." I took her hand and placed it on my chest over my heart, while my hand mimed the motion on her chest. "But I'm staying with you Jemma. As long as you really do want me at your side."

Jemma:


I scooted closer and moved my hand up to the side of his face from his chest. I leaned in and kissed him with all the feelings I had.

I kissed her back, eyes sliding shut as I put all of my own feeling into the touch. My ears twitched slightly with a small amount of nervousness.
