Kai:

I laced my fingers with Kats. Jemma scowled at us and I gave her a flat, calm look. “Lets go.” I told Kat softly unfurling my wings. “You aren’t leaving,” Jem snapped but then went still, frozen in place. She squeezed her eyes shut and broke the hold I had on her then reached out and grabbed my other wrist.

Kat:

"Why can't we go?" I demanded.

Jemma:

Kai was scowling and me and pulling back the wrist I held onto. “Because you’re kids. You’re not old enough to go out on your own like that. That’s how you get hurt or separated. And I’m not going to allow it.” I spoke to both of them.

Kai:

I twisted my arm out of her grasp. “That’s bull Jemma, you used to let me go out on midnight flights alone all the time.” I said flatly. “That was before-“ Jem started but I cut her off raising my voice a little. “Before what? Kat? Before we were together?” I demanded. “Before you died!” She shouted back.

Kat:

I flinched at all the yelling, they needed to stop arguing. It wasn't worth it...they were a family...and not only that...Jemma didn't need to worry...she hadn't really looked at Kai and me had she...

Jemma:

“You can’t treat me like I’m fragile just because of that. It doesn’t change anything!” He said quickly, he seemed to be stung by what I said. “It changes everything! It’s not a common trhing to just come back from something like that! There’s only one of you and I’m not losing you again, not to anything.” My eyes flicked back to Kat at that.

I caught her look and I flinched again, stepping away from Kai. "Jemma..." I warned softly.

Jemma:

I crossed my arms. “What?” I hissed. I couldn’t help but being hurt at all of this. He was my baby after all and he acted like I didn’t mean anything.

"Not now...I was enjoying myself, and I want to enjoy myself while I can...please..." I said softly, my voice full of desperation.

Jemma:

“What do you mean?” I asked dully.

I just shook my head and spread my wings to take off, glancing towards Kai, hoping that he would come with me.

Jemma:

This time I grabbed Kat’s wrist and squeezed it a little. “What did I say? You aren’t leaving.” I said sternly.

I tried to pull my wrist out of her grip. I had a headache coming on now, and I felt miserable because of it.

Kai:

“Jemma stop, let her go.” I said flatly, pulling Kat closer to me. “You can’t keep us from leaving or being together.”

Kat:

"Please Jemma?" I begged, nearly to tears. I didn't think I could take any more loud noises or arguing right now.

Jemma:

I tossed her hand back at her and turned away. What was I supposed to do? I had no experience in this.

Kai:

I wound both my arms around Kat.

Kat:

I hid my face in Kai's chest. "Thank you Jemma...I just want to be happy."

((Jemma could call her names that would set her off.))

Jemma:

I scowled at Kai and he just stared back disdainfully. My fists clenched a little at her words.

((She wouldn’t do that to someone she cared about unless they got in her face about something))

I looked up at Kai and kissed him, moving onto my tippie toes.

Jemma:

My jaw dropped just a little. “What the hell.” I said flatly. “What the fuck have I been saying, or has it all been going through one ear and straight out the other one. Are you truly that much of an airhead?”

I pulled back and blinked at her, a wounded look on my face. "Airhead? That is what you think about me?" I asked softly, pulling out of Kai's arms and stepping away from him.

Kai:

I protested at what Jemma said but my words were lost on her. “I’ve never seen any evidence of you being anything less than an airhead.” She spat crossing her arms.

I trembled before I yelled out, "Enough!" In a burst my wings flared and a halo bloomed into existence over my head. I started to glow, but looking at the glow, it would seem hollow, as if there was nothing inside of me. On the other hand, Kai would look like he was glowing inside.

My eyes snapped open and I glared at Jemma. "That is enough Jemma. For the price I paid, I deserve my happiness."

Jemma:

I took a step back staring at the two of them. “But- But he was just bound to you, how is that a price to pay don’t you want to be with him?” I said trying to understand what she meant and what I knew of the situation.

I pointed at Kai, "He died. His soul was gone. To bring someone back from the dead there must be an equal exchange. I gave up my soul so he could live!" I yelled. I started trembling.

Alex:

I peeked at Kat, confused. What was she doing? Why was she so bright?

Jemma:

I stared at her in shock. “What? I- I didn’t know that… Kat….” I stumbled over my words, at a loss. Kai hung his head.
