hm weird me....hell yes (open)

Kai:

I grimbled a little at the noise then my eyes flew open, realizing what it was. "Kat?" I asked softly, cupping her pale face in my hand. "Kat, can you hear me?"

I made another small sound in my throat as I shifted and squirmed. I could hear a voice but couldn't make out the voice or words.

 

I felt someone tugging at my connection, but I felt too panicked to know who it was or how to respond back. I couldn't move! Everything hurts! Where was I! Who is holding me!

 

"K-kai? Kai where are you!" I called loudly through the link as a shudder passed through me.

Kai:

"I'm right here. I'm right here with you." I told her, holding her tightly in my arms.

I gave another small whimper and a sharp jerk. "K-kai?" I stammered out as my eyes fluttered open for a brief moment before closing again.

 

I started shaking and grew quiet except for the occasional whimper. After a few long minutes I murmured out. "You called me b-baby..."

 

I gave a tiny giggle that turned into a fit of coughing as I shuddered again. "W-water....please..." I murmured as I went still against him.

 

I tried not to guzzle the water, but I couldn't help it. I felt dehydrated, like I hadn't eaten or drank anything in a long time.

 

My eyes slowly opened again as I blinked at him. "You look t-tired..." I said as I held the empty waterbottle in my hands.

 

His form was blurry and completely out of focus. I had only guessed by what he sounded like and what I could feel through the connection. But the smell...the feel...that was all him. I leaned my face into his thumb as I tried to get my focus together.

 

"I-I love you too..." I murmured to him as I closed my eyes and just let him hold onto me.

 

I gave a small whine at that. "I don't want to be alone...hurry back...please..." I said softly.

Kai:

I laid her back on the bed and kissed her forehead gently.  “I will.”  I told her.  I left the room, going to find the granola bars we had.  Danny was curled up on the couch, her cat hears were pointed back as she read a book.  

“She’s waking up.”  I told her, relief in my tone.  She looked up and smiled.  “I knew she would.”  She said with a kind smile.  “I got some groceries for you.  They’re on the counter.”  She stood up and came over to hug me before I could go see what she had gotten.  I was surprised by the hug.  Usually the only pretty girl that was hugging me was Kat.  She kissed my cheek which surprised me even more.  “You should go back to the canyon, when you’re ready.”  She told me then turned away.  Light shined from her for a split second then she was gone.  I stood there for a moment, completely stunned.  I didn’t even know which I was most surprised by.  

I returned to Kat minutes later with a glass of milk and a PBJ sandwich.

I had curled into a tight ball in the spot he had left, my face pressed into the pillows his head had been resting against. He hadn't been gone all that long, a few minutes at best but it felt like an eternity. I was trembling again, trying hard not to simply tug at the connection between us to try and bring him back faster.
