hm weird me....hell yes (open)

I opened my eyes slowly, still unable to focus on him as I blindly failed around. My hand hit the sandwich first, nearly hitting it off the plate before I grabbed it and took a bite.

Kai:

I sipped at the glass of milk then set it aside. I laid down next to her, propped up on my elbow, just watching her. She was back, it had been so long. I had barely been conscious for much of it, but she was back now, which meant I could come back.

Kat:

I devoured the sandwich, making a mess over my face and hands.

Kai:

“You’re beautiful.” I said softly, enthralled with her even when she was being messy.

I paused and ducked my head, wiping at my face to try and get it clean. "I probably look a mess..." I murmured as I tried to wipe my face on my top.

Kai:

I smiled and leaned over to kiss her temple. “You do.” I told her with a little grin. “But I love you anyway.”

I blushed and scrubbed at my face more and then grabbed a pillow to hide my face more.

Kai:

“Don’t do that.” I murmured then burrowed my own face under the pillow to be with her. I wound my arms around her and pulled her fragile body against mine.

I snuggled against him, my eyes closing as I nuzzled my face against him.

Kai:

I held her close to me, breathing her scent in, enjoying the softness and warmth of her body.

"What happened....did....did I collapse? What day is it?" I asked him after a moment, looking up at him with the pillow still clutched in my arms.

Kai:

"You've been unconscious for weeks... I didn't know if you were going to make it." My voice broke as I said it, some of the pain from the last month showing through. I nuzzled her then pressed my face into the crook of her neck, squeezing my eyes shut.

"Weeks? H-has it really been weeks?" I asked trying to look at him in fear. This couldn't be true could it? I was out of it for weeks? Where were we, what had happened, why was I suddenly better? I kept all of the questions down and instead asked the next one that seemed most pressing. "A-are you okay?" I bit my lip and trembled before whispering in a weak voice, "I'm sorry..."

Kai:

I tremor went through me and I couldn't respond for a second. After a moment I nodded slowly and squeezed her tighter. "I am now." I murmured into her hair.

I felt the tremor and I felt even worse for it. I let him hold me, feeling discomfort from him holding me so tightly. But I didn't say anything or do anything about it. I could only imagine and guess at what he was thinking and feeling.

Kai:

I clung to her for another minute then loosened my grip. "I thought I was going to lose you... I don't know what I would have done." I murmured into her neck.

"Live on...survive....grow up so that maybe someday I could look back at the world and see just how happy you were with life..." I murmured though I knew it wasn't what would have happened.

Kai:

“I don’t want to do that without you.” I whispered then sat up to look her in the eyes. “You’re my entire world.”

I met his eyes and shook my head slowly. I lifted a hand weakly and slapped him with all the strength I had, which really wasn't all that much. "I-if I died...you would have.....would you want me to end my own life? If you died? Don't...please....." Tears flooded my eyes and then I hid my face in his chest. "That is the most romantic and sweetest thing ever...but please....no....don't make me worry about that..."

Kai:

“Then don’t disappear from me. You won’t have to worry if youre still here.” I murmured, rubbing her back between her wings.

"I cant help it...what if it isn't my control." I complained softly.

Kai:

“Then it isn’t in mine either. Kat, you don’t understand, I wouldn’t be able to function without you. You know how Jemma was after Michael died? That would be nothing to how I would be if I lost you. I can’t bear to be without you. Would you feel differently if our roles were reversed?” I asked her, pulling away a little so I could look into her eyes. I cupped her face with my hand and stroked her cheek with my thumb.

I searched his eyes, "I...I....." I swallowed and leaned my head into his thumb. I didn't know what to say, beyond that I felt helpless and I didn't like that this was being tossed on me. I couldn't help what happened to me, but it hurt me even more and stressed me that if anything happened to me he would just...end it all.

Kai:

“Don’t be sad, Kat. We’re in this together. Everything will be okay.” I kissed her cheek then pressed my own to it, holding her there.

I nodded and just kind of held on to him, nuzzling my cheek against his with a small happy purr in my throat.
